History of Boxing Gloves

  History Boxing was first put on the Olympic program in 688 b.c., and it was there that perhaps the most solid record of hand assurance shows up. Olympic contenders wrapped their hands and wrists with calfskin strips. From the start, the calfskin was utilized as confirmation. Sometime later, the calfskin was set, making these early gloves into weapons. The Romans called these strips cestus and added iron or metal studs.
